3 Steps to Improve Your SEO Campaign

Sep 22, 2017 by kidd

Getting a better site ranking on Google means more traffic, more leads, and more conversions. In this blog, we'll go over three ways you can improve your SEO campaign.

Switch to HTTPS

Google likes secure sites because users like secure sites. We don't need to go into much greater detail than that. According to this Chief Marketer article, you can get a slight SEO bump just by switching to HTTPS:

"While using HTTPS won’t give you a huge bump in search engine rankings, it will act as a tie-breaker for two otherwise equal sites. Additionally, 40 percent of Google’s page one organic search results feature an HTTPS website, suggesting that we may see a further push towards HTTPS in future. In other words, deciding whether or not to make the shift to HTTPS should be a no-brainer."

HTTPS is more secure than its counterpart, HTTP. As the article hinted, this may play an even larger role in the future.

Keep creating fresh content

Fresh content is essential for a good site ranking. Google wants to see that your site is active and users want to know if your business is keeping up with the times. If you're not creating at least one new piece of content per week, then you're going too slow.

Don't sleep on voice search and podcasts

And finally, the biggest opportunity in SEO is figuring out how Google will factor voice search in its rankings. According to this Forbes article, this is something marketers should get started on now:

"People are searching more than ever, probably because they have more ways to perform those searches. It’s your job as a leader and marketer to figure out how to influence search results on these different platforms and formats."

With Siri and Bixby, users are placing more voice searches than ever before. This will be a deciding factor of SEO moving forward.

By getting a more secure site, creating new content, and learning how to handle mobile searches, your business can get better site rankings on search engines. To talk more about SEO, or anything else, contact us today.
