Improve Your Search Engine Optimization by Adding Useful, Clear and Relatable Content

Oct 5, 2018 by kidd

If you've been interested in driving more traffic to your website, then you probably already know the basics of search engine optimization or SEO. A lot has been written about using the right keywords but using them to a judicious degree. Plus, there's the idea of introducing keyword variety and updating your online presence regularly with fresh content. At the same time, you're supposed to keep your content brief and use subdivisions, bullet points or lists for ease of reading.oie_US43wdZCCWO0.png

The main thing to remember, however, is that SEO can be accomplished in the long run by adding value to your customer's life. Here are three ways in which you can do so:

  1. Useful Content: A lot of times, people just keep updating their online presence because they know that they're supposed to do this in order to improve SEO. However, the content they add to their website, blog or social media pages may not necessarily be high quality. This is a mistake. If there's really nothing that you can add to your online presence which would improve your customer's life, then it's better to add nothing at all. Adding repetitive or badly written content is only going to hurt your SEO in the long run.
  2. Clear Content: Another thing you need to do, to improve your SEO is to make sure that the content you add to your online presence is clear. This means that you need to avoid using jargon. If your online presence is tailored to a very specific demographic which uses this jargon on a regular basis, then it's ok to use it. But if you're trying to get more customers who aren't going to know the ins and outs of the business, then make sure that they'll be able to understand your content.
  3. Relatable Content: Another thing you need to do is make sure that your customers find your content relatable. You need to think from their point of view when you're posting it. For example, if you want to attract a readership of plus-size women, then it makes sense to write content that plus-size women can relate to, such as "Fashion Tips for Plus-Size Women," "Why Plus Is Beautiful," or "3 Plus-Size Women We Love." Similarly, you'll need to use photos of plus-size women too. By doing this, you're making sure that your audience will be able to relate to your content.
