Using Google AdWords Effectively

Jan 23, 2013 by Paul

If you own a business or run a blog that you want to get noticed, it is essential to incorporate the use of keywords. Google AdWords is a wonderful tool that will allow your website to show up on the popular Google search engine.

Adwords is a pay per click tool that will earn you money with each click by a website visitor. Placing these ad words strategically will increase and monetized your site dramatically. Here are a few tips to help you get started with using Google Adwords.

Use Words Specific to Your Audience

If your website has a certain theme, use word terms that imply it or are incredibly similar. For example, if your site is about fashion then use ad word terms such as “dresses”, “shoes”, “handbags”, etc. This will pop up ads exclusive to your word choices and your visitors just might take interest in them. Remember to not stray too far off with your words and keep them as concise as possible.

Use Negative Match

The negative match setting is helpful for keywords that don’t necessarily pertain to your website. If you type in a phrase and it gives you a somewhat different ad than what you wanted, use negative match so people don’t click your keyword expecting it to take them to a relevant ad. A good example would be the keyword “country bedding” taking the clicker to a site about bed and breakfast inns. The person w ho clicked the word is most likely looking for bed sheets and not places to eat.

Create Ad Copy

If you really want your viewers to click on the ads you present, write more text to get noticed. You can simply add in the phrases “sign up here” or “read more” to catch your viewers attention to advertisement. Good ad copy is more likely going to make you better at tailoring your Google Adwords and producing some steady income from clicks. All you need to do is encourage them to click the ads without being too loud and overbearing about it.
