Packaging Council of Australia

The Packaging Council of Australia (PCA) were in a bit of a pickle. They had a very large (and very old) existing website, but it was about to be decommissioned at short notice. We very quickly found a pre-designed concrete5 theme that would do the job and within a couple of weeks we'd moved all the important content on to a new website.

Although using a pre-designed theme is not our usual practice, in this case it was 'needs must' to meet a very tight time frame.

Since then though, we've continued to work with the PCA and created custom designed 'themes' for their Australian Packaging Design Awards and Southern Cross Packaging Design Awards. This highlights and incredibly useful function within the concrete5 content management system that we use, i.e. it's ability to house several different themes, which allows us to create a 'website within a website'.

If you click on the below links, you'll be taken to their Awards pages and you can see that they have a completely different design and navigational structure, and yet they are still within the overall main PCA website - genius! Keeping these websites all under one roof is really important for search engine optimisation and makes for easier website maintenance.
